Terms of Use

Last updated 16 October 2026

The short version

  • Keep your account private, and use your real full name: it goes on your certificates.
  • Treat everyone with respect in lessons, live sessions, Q&A and team work.
  • Do your own work, and be honest about any AI help.
  • Don’t share session links, course videos or other students’ details.
  • You own your work; we use it only to teach, grade and celebrate it.
  • Paid courses are charged in naira through Paystack, with a receipt by email.

1. About these terms

These terms explain the rules for using www.algollam.com and our courses, live programmes and mentoring. ALGOLLAM (“we”, “us”) is registered in Nigeria as an incorporated trustees organisation. By creating an account or using ALGOLLAM you agree to them. If you are under 18, please read them with a parent or guardian.

2. Your account

  • Give accurate details, and use your real full name: it is printed on your certificates.
  • Keep your password and sign-in codes private. Never share them with anyone, including people claiming to be from ALGOLLAM.
  • One account per person. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
  • Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.

3. How we expect everyone to behave

ALGOLLAM is a learning community for young people. When you use it, in lessons, live sessions, Q&A or team work, you agree to:

  • treat students, mentors and staff with kindness and respect: no bullying, harassment, hate speech or inappropriate content;
  • do your own work. Help each other, but don’t copy someone else’s work or submit work that isn’t yours;
  • be honest about using AI tools. You may use them to learn, but you must understand and be able to explain anything you submit;
  • not share session links, passcodes, course videos or other students’ details outside the platform;
  • not record live sessions or other people without permission;
  • not try to break, overload or get around the platform’s security, or access accounts or data that aren’t yours.

4. Live sessions

Live classes run on Zoom. Join through the Join button on your programme page so your attendance is recorded. Keep your camera on, use your full name, join from a quiet place, and stay muted unless you are speaking. Facilitators may remove anyone from a session who doesn’t follow these terms.

5. Your work

You own the work you create and submit. You give ALGOLLAM permission to store it and show it to your mentors, your team and (for programme projects) the programme’s organisers, so we can teach, grade and celebrate it. We will ask before using your work publicly, for example in a showcase. Questions and answers you post in a course can be seen by other people on that course.

6. Our courses and materials

Courses, videos, slides and other materials belong to ALGOLLAM or the instructors who made them. You may use them for your own learning. You may not copy, sell, publish or share them with people who don’t have access.

7. Certificates

You earn a course certificate by completing every lesson, and a programme certificate by meeting its attendance requirement. Each certificate has a public verification link. We may withdraw a certificate that was earned by cheating or by breaking these terms.

8. Payments and refunds

Many courses are free. Paid courses show their price in naira (₦) before you pay, and payments are processed securely by Paystack. You get access as soon as your payment is confirmed, and we email you a receipt.

If something isn’t right with a purchase, email support@algollam.com with your payment reference within 14 days. We review every refund request fairly. A refunded course is removed from your account. Nothing in these terms affects your rights under consumer law.

9. Changes to ALGOLLAM

We are always improving ALGOLLAM, so features, courses and schedules may change. We will give notice of important changes. We work hard to keep the platform available, but we can’t promise it will never be interrupted.

10. Suspending or closing accounts

You can stop using ALGOLLAM and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or misuses the platform. Where it is safe to do so, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.

11. Our responsibility to you

We provide ALGOLLAM with care and skill, but learning outcomes depend on the effort you put in, and we can’t guarantee results such as a job or a university place. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that we could not reasonably have foreseen. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

12. Which law applies

ALGOLLAM is a Nigerian organisation, so these terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes will be handled by the Nigerian courts. If you live in another country, such as the United Kingdom, you keep any rights the law of your country gives you as a consumer, and you can also bring a claim in your local courts.

If something goes wrong, please contact us first. Most problems can be sorted out quickly by talking.

13. Changes to these terms

If we make important changes, we will tell you by email or on the platform before they take effect. If you keep using ALGOLLAM after that, the new terms apply.
